RE: Creative Health Institute Certifies
Inaugural Class of Raw, Living Food Chef-Level I
Fourteen students and seven staff completed certification as raw, living food chefs-Level I on Sunday, October 4, 2009 conducted by Creative Health Institute in Union City, MI. The class was the first to be certified as raw, living food chefs, Level-I. Graduates will be able to prepare basic and advanced gourmet, raw living foods and entertain in their homes.
The charter students came from nearby Michigan townships as well as from Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Canada and included business people, a physician, a writer from Ann Arbor, a 15-year-old high school honor student.
Angel Bond, director, led a staff of 24 in the intense seminar. Staff was represented by 7 paid staff, four volunteers, and 13 interns from all over the U.S., including Hawaii & Alaska; along side interns from Canada and Demark. Interns are retained for three months and rotated through the five operations in the Institute, according to Bond.
Students were presented with lectured, hands-on preparation and dining on 36 recipes in raw, living foods in six demonstrations over the three day-periods. The approach and instruction are patterned after the teachings and philosophy of Ann Wigmore who pioneered concepts in health and wellness based on raw, living foods.
Demonstrations and recipes presented an array of basic and gourmet raw, living foods, including stuffed Portobello mushrooms, marinated red cabbage, raw chocolate cake, a taco bombé, corn chips, almost raw Mexican bean appetizers, and traditional raw foods of guacamole, apple-lemonade and buckwheat blueberry pancakes with syrup.
The certification course, which occurs monthly over the first weekends of the month and is limited to 15 students, was sold out for the rest of the year. A chef-Level-II is scheduled for January. For more information, call Angel Bond at 517-278-7270
